Green Packet Q2 revenue up 36pc
THE Green Packet Group of Companies revenue went up 36.1 per cent to RM56.5 million for the second quarter this year from RM41.5 million in the first quarter.
However, there was a slight increase in operational cost due to an investment in Packet One Networks (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd’s deployment plan and activities, it said in a statement today.
Green Packet Group managing director and chief executive officer, CC Puan said that the group’s performance in the second quarter was on track with the business projection of achieving earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation, and amortization positive by year end.
A developer of next generation mobile broadband and networking solutions, the group’s solutions business secured two contracts during the first half of 2009 and two other major deals are expected during the second half, Puan said.
The group’s wimax service provider arm, P1 unveiled its latest fixed WiMAX modem, the DV230 — a device that seamlessly integrates WiMAX, WiFi and voice functionalities into one stylish and compact package.
In addition, P1 has also launched WIGGY 69, a great value for money portable WiMAX package.
“These new packages by P1 cater to different levels of internet users and would help us to remain on track to achieve more than 200,000 subscribers by end of this year,” Puan said. – Bernama
